Postpartum Essentials Checklist
Postpartum is such a special time for mums! Our postpartum essentials checklist can help you decide what you might need to get organised so you have the best possible experience.
The fourth trimester is often overlooked in importance but a good plan really helps with postnatal recovery, both physically and mentally. The focus can often be on the new baby and all their needs, but make sure you are looking after yourself and ensuring you are comfortable and cared for too.
Here are some Postpartum Essentials:

REST
The body has undertaken a huge process giving birth! It needs time to rest so everything can repair and recover. Some cultures even traditionally have six weeks full bed rest. Get as much sleep and rest as you can.

NOURISHMENT
Warming, nutrient-dense foods are great to provide sustenance and help postnatal recovery. Stews, soups, bone broth, eggs, porridge and nourishing snacks like bliss balls and trail mix are great.
Also consider foods that can help boost your breastmilk supply.

HYDRATION
Lots of water is are really important to replenish lost fluids after giving birth. Good hydration also helps with breast-feeding and to prevent constipation. A good quality insulated, no-spill water bottle is great to have on hand.
Try a hydrating drink mix with natural electrolytes especially made for new mums.
You can also use herbal teas like RASPBERRY LEAF TEA that helps with toning the uterus and supporting milk production or BREASTFEEDING TEA that helps with breast milk production.

SUPPORT
They say it takes a village! Get plenty of support for postpartum so you can relax, recover and spend time bonding with baby.
This might look like asking family and friends to help with meals, housework and care of other children, getting postnatal bodywork and massages or hiring a postnatal doula.
