Pregnancy Self Care
Pregnancy is an exciting and special time and it also brings plenty of physical and emotional changes.
Looking after yourself during pregnancy is just as important as looking after your growing baby.
Taking a little time each day for self-care can make all the difference! Here are some lovely ways you can nourish yourself during pregnancy.

Moisturise your bump
As your belly grows, your skin stretches to accommodate your little one. Keep your skin hydrated to help soothe dryness, tightness and pregnancy itch.
Choose an all natural, non-toxic belly oil or butter. Remember that not all skincare is suitable for pregnancy!
Keep moving
Gentle movement is recommended during pregnancy. Walking, swimming, pregnancy yoga and stretching can help maintain strength, support circulation and ease aches and pains.

Have relaxing baths
A warm (not hot) bath is a great way to take the pressure off muscles, joints and ligaments and relax. Add a safe, all natural pregnancy bath soak and enjoy!

Stay nourished
Your body is growing a whole human, so nourishing it with whole foods is important! Aim for plenty of fresh vegetables, fruit, quality protein, healthy fats and fibre.
Keep a water bottle handy throughout the day, particularly if you're feeling tired or experiencing constipation.
You may even like to add some quality hydration powder to boost your electrolytes. This is particularly important if you are suffering morning sickness or feeling depleted.
Get some extra support
A pregnancy belly belt can help support your muscles and ligaments and take some of the pressure off your lower back.
Specialist pregnancy massages and treatments are also a lovely way of looking after your body and preventing any issues.
Emotional wellbeing
Pregnancy can bring a whole mix of emotions, from excitement to worry and overwhelm. Give yourself permission to experience it all, without judgement.
Talk about how you're feeling, find support and connection and don't hesitate to reach out for professional help if you need it.

Prepare For Labour
Getting your body ready for labour in those final months can make the whole process a lot easier. So make some time for self care that includes things like perineum massage and drinking Raspberry Leaf Tea that helps strengthen uterine muscle and tone the pelvic floor.
Looking after yourself is looking after your baby too, so don't feel guilty for practicing self care during your pregnancy!
